WIND-turbine Design and Technology transfer
The vast majority of wind turbines have gearboxes and transmission systems, this leaves the owner with on going mechanical failures and loss of revenue. Technology with only one transmission step also suffer from problems. Direct drive Wind-turbines at this time are also mostly equipped with expensive generators, which possess increased danger of insulation damage. Some are still loaded by a rectifier, whereby substantial compromises are made regarding the possible output.
Frequently control optimisation is poor because of a patchwork of installed technology bought from several independent suppliers. SETEC understanding and ability to overcome these problems were our motivation to improve the plants so that flaws can be eliminated and at the same time the manufacturing and operating costs can be reduced.
For the development of different plant sizes, our experience with many different kinds of drive technologies, generators and control-systems within wind energy plants were used. Based on this long experience we were able to create a wind-turbine, without accepting any compromise in order to achieve the maximum possible energy output, availability and reliability of operation. A substantial point for reaching this objective was the optimization of the efficiency of the energy transformation over the complete speed range of the wind rotor.[read more]
